our skin + weather change

As the weather changes (as it gets colder or warmer), our skin starts to change too. Our skin may become more dry than usual - it could be from dryness in the air, the warmth of heaters and hotter showers, or become oilier than usual, with more humidity and warmer weather.

These are some skincare tips for the change in weather.

Remember to moisturise!

Make sure you use a non-clogging moisturiser. I like to use a skin oil (or rosehip oil) and follow it with a night cream

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water as this plays a big part in keeping your skin, and you healthy!

Avoid harsh peels and masks, and alcohol-based toners

These strip the natural oils from your skin. Try using a cleansing milk and switch to a non-alcohol based toner.

Avoid overly hot showers and baths

Although this is tempting, this can cause loss of moisture.

Don't forget to moisturise your feet

Our feet are generally neglected, don't forget to keep them moisturised!

Remember to use sunscreen

This should be done everyday regardless!

...

Do you use any of these strategies already?

What do you do for your skin in the cooler months?

Stay warm and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
